In your game’s folder, look for steam_settings (created by Goldberg). Edit force_steamid.txt – leave it blank or use a random 17-digit ID.
These fixes modify game memory. Windows Defender will flag them as "Win32/Wacatac" – add an exclusion to your game folder.
However, for peer-to-peer games (Survival, Co-op shooters, Horror multiplayer), the triad of remains the definitive solution.
Crucially, you must have Steam installed and running in the background. You do not need to own the game. Just log into any free Steam account (create a new one to avoid risking your main account).
Find localconfig.txt (or configs.user.ini ). Change the line: appid = 480 This tells Steam "This cracked game is actually Spacewar."
Launch the game. Open Steam overlay. You will see "Spacewar" listed as your current game. Right-click your friend’s name → "Invite to game." The game will treat the invite as a peer-to-peer connection.
